Barista/Bartender/Server (West Salem and Independence (two locations))

Now hiring for 1 part-time Barista/Bartender/Server, approximately 4-5 shifts/week! (MUST be 21 or older, per OLCC Law.) We start interviews ASAP, so don't wait!

Must be able to work evenings and EVERY weekend, both now AND in the future (can take intermittent time off for pre-planned activities/events on evenings & weekends - we aren't evil!)

Must have reliable transportation to/from work at both of our business locations, as all of our team members work at both locations.

BREW, COFFEE & TAP HOUSE is an upscale Coffee and Tap House, with two locations “ one on Edgewater St in West Salem and the other on Main Street in Independence (the two locations are 9 miles apart.) We have awesome outdoor seating with a huge firepit at both locations, outdoor serving areas, live music, events, and are closed on major holidays - because our team's family is important! We have Java Crew brand espresso and coffee, as well as several local brewery's beers on tap, including ciders, wines and basic cocktails. In addition, we also have delicious, unique and simple food offerings.

What you get to do:

Deliver memorable and efficient beverage and food service, including an introduction to Brew, menu orientation and selections.

Check patrons' identifications to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.

Enter all menu selections through our cash register & order system and provide quick delivery, ensuring accuracy and guest satisfaction.

Secure payment for all transactions and process according to standards and procedures.

Assist other team members with food and beverage service to ensure all guests' expectations are met and exceeded.

Ensure safe, secure, and healthy facility environment by following all sanitation standards and procedures; complying with health and legal regulations.¯

Awesome qualifications you need to bring:

Minimum 1 year barista, bartender or server experience in a high volume facility strongly preferred. Basic espresso, beer, wine, cider and cocktail knowledge preferred. (We will train all new-hires, so if you don't have this knowledge and you rock so we hire you anyway, don't worry!)

Oregon state food handler permit required

Alcohol server permit required

Prior cash-handling experience required, basic arithmetic

Must display ability to work with general computer operations and cash register operations

Ability to thoroughly describe and sell all menu items

Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation and proper table set ups

Provide legible communication and directions

Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.

Prioritize, organize and follow up; be a clear thinker, remaining calm; resolving problems using good judgement.

Maintain positive guest relations at all times

Be familiar with local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately

Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day

Work cohesively with leadership, team members and guests

Work with minimal supervision

Maintain confidentiality of guest information and data

Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all of Brew's policies/service procedures/standards

Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended

Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas

High school graduate or equivalent required and must be 21 years of age or older

Previous guest service training is very helpful
