Behavior Technician:

A Behavior Technician provides 1:1 behavioral intervention services to children with special needs and support to their families in center. Behavior Technicians are responsible for implementing Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) based programs as directed the Board Certified Behavior Analyst/Case Supervisor.

No travel required, 10 holidays per year (paid if full-time), guaranteed 40 hours of work per week in center if Full-Time. Work is Monday to Friday whether Full-Time or Part-Time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma/GED or higher degree

Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) or desire to work toward receiving you RBT with guidance provided by AwA.

Ability to pass a full background check

Two (2) years experience with children, preferred.

Acceptance of philosophy and goals of AwA.

Ability to receive regular vaccinations including: Influenza (Flu), TB, Tetanus, COVID-19 etc. (only medically necessary exemptions)

LINE OF AUTHORITY:

Reports to the Board Certified Behavior Analyst/Therapy Supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Completes a BACB approved RBT course before start date and keeps registration to the BACB current.

Assists the BCBA in implementing behavioral programming in a 1:1 setting.

Collects data on all programming and writes progress notes.

Advises and consults with the family and other agency personnel.

Participates in in-service programs and presents in-service programs as assigned.

Understands and adheres to established policies and procedures.

Participates with all other health care personnel in patient care planning.

Directs and supervises assistant (RBT, Behavior Technician) personnel as required.

With the BCBA, instructs patients and family/significant others in home programs and protocols.

Attends all staff meetings and patient care conferences as scheduled.

Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Instruction to patient/family in home program with documentation in medical record notes.

Observes confidentiality and safeguards all patient related information.

Immediately reports to BCBA/ Therapy Supervisor any patient incidents/variances or complaints.

Adheres to Agency standards and consistently interprets and accurately performs all assigned responsibilities.

Maintains acceptable attendance status, per Agency policy.

Reports all incomplete work assignments to BCBA/ Therapy Supervisor.

Appearance is always within Agency standards; is clean and well groomed.

Demonstrates effective time management skills through daily documentation and infrequent overtime for routine assignments.

Maintains clean and neat work environment.

Demonstrates sound judgment, critical thinking and decision making.

Assists other staff with maintaining the cleanliness of the center assigned.

COVID-19 considerations:

AwA is checking temperatures daily of clients, staff and visitors to the center as well as verify out of country travel and relevant symptoms. All staff are required to wear masks while interacting with clients. Visitors required to wear masks on premise.
