We are seeking an experienced, in-home caregiver to assist an elderly, wheel chair bound gentleman with activities of daily living, medications, meals, light cleaning and laundry. The right candidate should be reliable, compassionate, patient, and able to work with a sometimes grumpy individual who has a frontal brain injury, diabetes, and is unable to walk unassisted. Days needed would be Monday, Wednesday and Friday to take the individual to doctor's appointments and dialysis.
Responsibilities may include:
- Morning routine: making breakfast, checking vitals, administering insulin and making sure other medications are taken correctly
- Transporting patient to and from dialysis Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays (using our vehicle)
- Transporting patient to and from doctor's appointments (using our vehicle)
- Afternoon routine: making lunch, checking vitals, administering medications, encouraging physical therapy exercises
- Evening routine: making dinner, checking vitals, helping prepare for bed
- Light house keeping (a cleaner comes once a week), laundry and dishes
