Machinist/Tool Maker
Education/Experience:
Associate Degree or Trade School Certificate in manufacturing technology or at least 2 years experience as a machinist in a precision machine shop OR a mechanically inclined individual with drive to be a machinist.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
Ability to program and operate with minimal supervision, CNC mills, CNC lathe, Wire EDM, grinders and other standard tool room equipment
Excellent problem solving skills and ability to work within .0002 tolerance range
CAD/CAM experience a plus. Mastercam preferred.
Knowledge of materials used in the fabrication of tools
Knowledge of precision inspection practices, hand tools and equipment
Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and tool drawings
Excellent planning and work area organizational skills
Excellent oral communication skills
Very good interpersonal skills
Duties and Responsibilities:
Holding to the highest standard of quality while working in a timely manner
Assist other tool makers, when necessary, to achieve on time delivery commitments
Know status of job and whereabouts on the floor at any given time
Adhere to schedule for work priorities
Complete inspection check list
Notify management of any problems or delays that will impact the companys ability to support established on time delivery
Keep work area clean and organized
