BASIC RESPONSIBILITY:

To assist the Quality Assurance Manager in the planning, implementation, and oversight of all Quality Assurance related functions in all phases of plant operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform routine quality audits of multiple repackaging line production activities/fresh pack activities.

Review product and packaging quality attributes for fresh pack & repackaging “disposition if/as needed.

Audit Quality Assurance staff workforce for work performed.

Perform sanitation pre-operational and post operational inspections.

Review/monitor records for thoroughness and accuracy of products to ensure internal and customer quality expectations are met.

Prioritize multiple tasks and stay focused and productive while under pressure.

Document key quality related events for management review.

Maintain complete and accurate records.

Communicate information effectively to other employees of the Company, either one-on-one or small group settings.

Follow, train, and enforce plant policy and procedures.

Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and other regulators guidelines - such as USDA/ODA/FDA.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelors degree preferred in any one of the following disciplines: Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related Physical or Life Science. In lieu of a college degree, applicants with several years of food industry experience in quality assurance and/or production processing will also be considered.

Familiarity with USDA product standards and product grading procedures helpful.

Familiarity with ODA and FDA food regulations are helpful

High level of communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to independently prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Detail oriented. Able to work independently with minimal direction.

Computer skills to include Shop Scan, Word, Excel, and Access.

Must be able to supervise and direct multiple employees in a fast-paced, processing environment.

All new employee hiring is contingent upon passing a drug screen.

HOURS: Full-time. Hours: Rotating Shifts throughout the year. Overtime as required, including weekends.
