This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Equipment Systems Specialist, competency level 2, position for the department of Academic Technologies at Oregon State University (OSU).

Academic Technology has 4 Equipment Systems Specialist II (ESSII) positions that oversee presentation technology in all learning spaces at OSU-Corvallis, OSU-Cascades and OSU-Portland. This position is essential to maintaining and promoting systems integrity for classroom instruction and thesis defenses.

Position Duties

30% “ Assists with installation and configuration of presentation systems

30% “ Maintains, services and trouble shoots system in need of evaluation and/or repair

30% “ Works with Student technician in our presentation support call center

10% “ Works with other Academic Technology teams with various aspects that rely on ESSII expertise

Minimum Qualifications

This classification requires a basic foundation of knowledge and skills of equipment and systems that would normally be obtained through an associate of arts degree in electronics or industrial technology, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or directly related experience.

Additional Required Qualifications

Experience with AV control systems, digital audio processors and TCP/IP protocols with AV over IP.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.

This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid drivers license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.

Preferred (Special) Qualifications

Associates degree in IT, Engineering, communication, education or related field

Experience working in higher education environment

Oregon Limited License (Class B)

InfoCOMM CTS Certification
