The opportunity

The Core AI team of eBay is looking for an innovative technical leader will be accountable for our native AI experiences that helps eBay be an "AI-first" company. He/she will define the mobile strategy for eBay's most innovative product development program, and will be accountable for our next generation mobile AI development frameworks, best practices, and to develop advanced Computer Vision features on our mobile AI applications. Working with our science teams and native platform teams, we together will delight millions of customers a year.

Job Functions:

We are looking for a motivated leadership role to help us:
  • Leads large mobile projects by collaborating with cross-functional teams to determine project stagey and interpreting strategy into sustainable mobile solutions.
  • Troubleshoots business and product issues for mobile devices, formulating an action plan; performing root cause analysis across multiple mobile devices.
  • Work closely with every Core Product domain on short and long-term solutions and timelines, and perform feature definition, architecture design and the actual implementation
  • Follow agile practices and focus on continual improvement in our practices, driven from the ground up.
  • Work well with team members and other teams, dividing up workload appropriately.
  • Partner and collaborate with other organizations throughout eBay.
  • As part of the team, you'll also share your knowledge with the wider team as well as learning about and contributing to our core app experience.
  • Any experience in AR/AI/VR/ML and previous gaming or gaming company environments would be preferred!

Job Requirements
  • Preferred 15+ years of experience in software development, in which 10+ years of experience on designing, building, refactoring and releasing mobile apps.
  • 7+ years of iOS/Android platform experience and 3+ years of programming experience in Swift/Kotlin
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies and working in Agile teams is desirable
  • Experience in working with large code bases and effectively driving large projects
  • Experience in mentoring engineers and influence other engineers across the organization.
  • Experience with TDD, pairing, code reviews, and other techniques to maintain high-quality code and resiliency.
  • Excellent communication and lead skills to be able work and collaborate with other teams involved in our projects such as Computer Vision and Native Platform Teams.
