Pneumatics Designer

This company located in Wilsonville, Oregon (near Portland) is seeking a Pneumatics Designer for a full-time, direct hire role. The Pneumatics Designer will be responsible for the design, detail, release, and revision of pneumatic systems and controls.Your Responsibilities
  • Design pneumatic systems for custom machinery; will be involved with design concepts, design reviews, and manufacturability reviews.
  • Work with Engineering team to develop and validate new and modified pneumatic systems on current production machines, equipment under development, and any custom-built equipment that requires custom pneumatic controls.
  • Create and maintain pneumatic schematics.
  • Work concurrently on multiple projects of complex scope.
  • Advises and assists Engineering Manager on pneumatic design interfaced problems and decisions.
  • Performs pneumatic controls design and development consistent with department and industry standards.
  • Verify and comply with customer controls specifications.
  • Coordinate with purchasing on acquisition of purchased pneumatic controls components.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing on build requirements of pneumatic systems.
  • Active member of development team; willingness to work with other internal and external customers.
  • Hands-on involvement and desire to verify fit and function of design intent.

Your Qualifications
  • Ability to use CAD systems such as SolidWorks to create drawings highly desired.
  • Ability to use PC’S to do conventional word processing, navigate the Internet, and utilize internal systems for drawing access, component tracking, email, etc.
  • Ability to perform from oral or handwritten instructions.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Good interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English.
  • Physical capabilities include sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Understand customer needs, apply technical knowledge to identify requirements, recommend and implement custom controls solutions.
  • Uses cost effective design techniques to obtain a competitive and salable product/design.
Your Education and Experience
  • 2-5 years of designing pneumatic systems and solutions for pneumatic control systems.
  • Associate degree required.
