27379BRReq No.:27379BRJob Description and Qualifications:Are you interested in an entry level rotational program focusing on Electrical Engineering? This Career Development Program offers three, 8-month U.S. based Electrical Engineering positions in groups that design and operate industrial power systems for industrial gas plants. The Electrical Engineering design groups are responsible for specifying, purchasing, and commissioning the electrical distribution equipment and large motors associated with cryogenic, hydrogen, cogeneration, and process gas plants. The Electrical Engineering operations group is responsible for supporting the electrical operations of industrial gas plants including troubleshooting, electrical equipment repair and replacement, plant turnaround assistance, electrical safety program, and engineering associated with life extension programs. Responsibilities:Development of electrical single line diagrams and overall plant electrical distribution systems.Coordination with utility and/or customer to develop required power for operating plants.Specifying and purchasing key electrical equipment such as medium and low voltage switchgear and motor control centers, transformers, VFD’s, UPS systems, DC systems, etc. Responsibilities include writing purchase specifications, evaluating quotations, performing technical bid evaluations, vendor document review, and factory acceptance testing.Specifying large induction and synchronous motors and starting systems including reduced voltage autotransformers, reactor start, electronic soft-start/VFD, etc.Performing electrical system studies including short circuit, load flow, transient motor start, protection relay coordination, arc flash, etc., and creating appropriate protective device settings.Provide start-up and commissioning assistance as required.Provide troubleshooting support of electrical operations issues to various industrial gas plants.Provide oversight of electrical equipment repair and replacement both in operating plants and vendor repair facilities.Perform engineering for plant electrical upgrades and life extension projects.Provide on-site support during plant turnarounds.Qualifications / Skills:BS Degree in Electrical Engineering preferably focused on power systems.Experience in MS Word and MS Excel. Experience with electrical engineering software such as SKM Power Tools or ETAP is a plus.Candidate must be self-motivated, able to work with the appropriate level of supervision from senior level engineers and accept a high degree of personal responsibility for results.Able to work within a matrix engineering team environment and communicate effectively with team members, project managers and customers. Applicant Experience: This position is an entry level position to develop knowledge and application of switchgear, motor control centers, transformers, and motors used in industrial power systems as well as the ability to prepare and interpret specifications related to such equipment. You will develop knowledge and experience in performing detailed power system engineering studies as well as plant operations and electrical safety. Interest in process instrumentation and controls, lighting design, wind and solar systems, air conditioning, telecommunications, PLC’s, and electronic circuits is not applicable to this position.
