Job Description & Qualifications:The Instrumentation and Equipment Technology Group plays a key role in the development of new technology offerings through the design and fabrication of novel process equipment and controls. This functional team combines multiple designs, engineering, and fabrication capabilities to quickly move first of their kind process systems from initial concept to full operation. The Electrical/Controls Engineer supports technology development by providing electrical design, control system design and programming, and project execution leadership across a broad array of projects. The position reports to the IET Manager and will typically manage multiple projects in parallel with budgets ranging from $20,000 to more than $1,000,000. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of achieving measurable results with strong leadership, innovation, communication, interpersonal, and organization skills.Responsibilities:• Development of complex PLC programs for novel process systems.• Design and development of electrical layout drawings and schematics.• Design of low voltage power distribution systems (480V and below).• Development of HMI displays.• Specification of PLC hardware including CPUs, I/O modules, and Bus interfaces.• Program using function block, sequential function charts, structured text, and ladder logic.• Ensure compliance with IEC61508 through IEC 61511 through specification/configuration of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS).• Ensure compliance with National Electrical Code and Company's Engineering Standards.• Apply knowledge of field bus protocols including HART communications, Modbus, and Ethernet I/P.• Support the development of Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).• Troubleshooting and diagnostics of systems and equipment using all applicable test equipment.• Specification of process control instrumentation (pressure, flow, level, etc.).• Support Project Development activities including scope development and cost estimating.• Lead commissioning and start-up activities including loop checking, debugging, and confirmation of safety system functions.• Manage control system project execution and oversee electrical system fabrication.

Background and Qualifications:• BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree/experience.• Minimum 10 years experience developing PLC programs for process plants or similar applications.• Familiarity with Allen-Bradley platforms preferred, with proven record of PLC process control system software development.• The successful candidate shall also have a demonstrated track record of success with team efforts and proven project leadership capabilities.• Programming skills including VBA, VB, VB.net, SQL.• Knowledge of NFPA-79E, UL-508, NFPA-70.• Strong innovation skills.• Strong written and verbal communication skills.• Ability to manage multiple high-priority deliverables in parallel.• Knowledge of low voltage power distribution systems (variable frequency drives, motor starters, heater controls, etc.).• Knowledge of CAD software for schematic and drawing development (AutoCAD, Solidworks, or equivalent).Additional DetailsScope of work is to assume responsibility for the execution of a variety of projects currently in various stages of execution that will involve development of electrical schematics, panel layouts, specification and procurement of parts, and provision of software code developed from scratch or modified on existing systemsThis will also include shop testing and field commissioning of systems to include full I/O checkout, shutdown verification, PID loop tuning, data collection verification, and recipe controlPlatform for all systems is Allen Bradley and utilized Logix 5000 designer software for programing and Factory Talk View SE for HMI developmentKnowledge with VBA, basic networking, ethernet I/P and AutoCAD would be requiredApplicants must provide their phone number.
