Teaching Online (Blair County)

Pennsylvania, Altoona-johnstown 00000 Altoona-johnstown USA

Vacancy expired!

I have been a teacher at VIPKID for over 2 years and love it. It is the best of teaching without the drama or the germs. I teach in my PJ bottoms and the money is great! They pay by the half hour and the pay is determined by qualifications from $15 to $20 per hour (Or $7 to $10 per half hour).

Let me tell you about it and see if you would like to join me.

Here are the reasons I like it:

You can even work during the Coronavirus!

The company is professional. They require a degree and experience with kids or youth. They perform background checks on all applicants and interview to make sure applicants are the right fit for the company.

They hold to high level of standards and provide training to support the teacher. They provide workshops, forums for teachers to communicate, feedback, IT assistance, and rewards for excellent service.

The lessons are prepared and ready for review as soon as a parent schedules you.

The lessons are simple. They are easy to give it your own flair.

No grading papers. Each class has a very short report/feedback to help the student know how they did.

They pay by the 1/2 hour. You get a set fee for starting on time. A set fee for ending on time. And a set for the 25 minute time in the class.

At the end of the day you can go to your work log and see exactly how much you earned that day.

At the end of the month you have a log of every class, every dollar, all feedback, and you know exactly how much you make.

At the end of the year, they provide you with a 1099 for taxes.

You can open slots for any time between 9:00 pm till 9:00 am. If you want to take a break, don’t schedule a slot and take a day or more off. However once you have committed to a student, you are required to attend.

They provide training and workshops. They have online resources to download.

They will teach you their method and even help you get their certifications. You do not need to be state certified, but if not, they help you to get their company’s own certification. They do not charge for any certifications or workshops. It is to their advantage to have you highly trained.

The students are ADORABLE! They are kids and each has their own personality.

I LOVE my students.

No drama. I log on and have a great 25 minutes with a student and then the class is done. On to the next.

I teach in my socks and PJ bottoms. Very comfy. I choose my room temperature and schedule breaks for breakfast.

I can write off my internet for taxes.

The downside:

There is no community here. Which is why I am putting this out. When my internet goes down, I have no where to go. I would like to get a local community started. So if my internet drops, power outage, tree falls on my line, etc, I can have a buddy to go to and if my buddies lose internet they can come to me.

No benefits.

Filing taxes quarterly.

So how about it? I would love to answer any questions. You can email me here

noelfudge dot ican at yahoo dot com, and we can chat.

I do not determine pay. I do no hire. I am not a paid representative.

So why did I post this?

Last year my internet went down three times and the nearest fellow teacher is almost 2 hours away and McDonalds had horrible wifi. I would love to form a small community of fellow teachers here in Blair county, so that if one of us lose internet, we have a support system.

Also, with the Coronavirus, this job has been a Godsend. I hope to pay it forward by giving others a similar opportunity I have.

Again, contact me by electronic mail to noelfudge dot ican at yahoo dot com, where we can chat.
