Responsibilities - The Platform Support Analyst is a member of the Rapid Response Team (RRT - Level 3). The Platform Support Analyst is tasked with supporting software releases/upgrades, projects, initiatives and processes that assure the continued efficient operation of a major portion of the computing environment. The Platform Support Analyst position provides technology expertise for the continued functioning of the Windows and LINUX Server environment. The focus of the Platform Support Analyst is to develop technology solutions that address and resolve specific operating issues with the servers, peripheral devices and the diverse portfolio of software that employees use to complete their work. The Platform Support Analyst is a support specialist who must be well versed in the specific hardware and software technologies deployed, and are able to interact on a regular basis with the client population. The Platform Support Analyst derives their value both from their ability to understand, anticipate and prevent operational technology problems and from their trouble-shooting and diagnostic skills that enable them to resolve technology problems as they occur. Member of the Rapid Response Team (RRT - Level 3), in the Platform Operations department, tasked with addressing level 3 type server support requests. Familiarity working in a Support Center ticketing system environment, supporting level 1-2, etc. Support software releases and upgrades with attention to detail. Develop release documentation and maintain documentation library. Resolve complex system problems with computer hardware and software. Document installation and troubleshooting procedures and make available to other systems support personnel. Provide system support for changes and enhancements, following the accepted change management and security protocols. Potentially, participate in an after hours, weekly on-call rotation schedule with other members of the department. The Platform Operations department provides 24x7x365 production application support to its customer base. Build and develop strong relationships with ITSs business clients, by providing superior customer support as demonstrated by clearly owning, resolving and communicating issues and problems; being responsive to needs, requirements, and deadlines; and generally promoting goodwill in a professional and trust-building manner. Technical Requirements - Hands-on experience as a Windows 2003 / 2008 Server Administrator. In-depth understanding of Microsoft Software Products and associated technologies; Exchange, Active Directory, SharePoint, SQL Server, to name a few. Hands-on experience as a LINUX Server Administrator. In-depth understanding of system integration principles and working in environments with diverse integrated technologies. Hands-on experience with Server Virtualization, specifically VMware products. Hands-on experience with HP and IBM Server Hardware. Experience working with Vendor Technical Support personnel. Working knowledge of Networking concepts and technologies. Working knowledge of SAN / Storage concepts and technologies. Working knowledge of Monitoring concepts and technologies. Working knowledge of Security / Compliance concepts and technologies. Working knowledge of Change Management principles and guidelines. Requirements - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 5 years relevant, professional experience. Strong analytic and problem solving skills. Ability to manage concurrent and differentiated tasks. Excellent oral and written communications skills. Willingness to learn new technologies. Ability to work in a team environment. Excellent customer focus and awareness of the importance of the customer in a service organization. Ability to multi-task, handling a number of jobs simultaneously through to a successful conclusion. Ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines.
