- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, Network Engineering, Information Systems, or similar discipline
- Desired certifications: ITIL v3, MCSE and CCNA. Azure Certified Architect is a plus
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: The incumbent should have a minimum of seven (7) years with a Bachelor’s degree or five (5) years with a Master’s degree in computer science or related discipline, must be highly knowledgeable in computer and communications hardware and software, as well as in-depth knowledge of data center operations.
- The employee is expected to have a solid understanding of information security principles, technologies, and practice.
- Experience or familiarity with the following is a plus:
- Openstack tools, NIS, DFS and Active Directory concepts
- Cloud storage technologies, i.e., Azure, Veeam backup replication, etc.
- Storage capacity planning, performance tuning, and distributed compute/filesystem environments
- Familiarity with authorization and authentication systems (e.g., Active Directory)
- Understanding of client/server and database architectures
- Familiarity with regulatory/compliance requirements (ISO, NIST) and their applicability to the role
- Understanding of client/server and database architectures
- Public cloud environments such as Azure
- Scripting experience in Bash/Ksh, Perl, Python or PowerShell a plus

- Computer & Communications Evaluation & Implementation
- Evaluates, acquires, implements, and maintains technology solutions spanning all elements within a data center including servers, storage, authentication systems, end-user computing and cloud-based infrastructure services.
- Designs and manages deployments of technical solutions for Microsoft-centric server operating systems, others.
- Maintains and configures computing infrastructure for critical business applications and operations.
- Evaluates, designs, improves, and deploys technical and application solutions to meet business requirements.
- Develops and maintains business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Evaluates, designs, and implements backup and storage solutions for VMWare/VDI deployments.
- Performs root-cause analysis; ensures that lessons learned are documented and applied for process improvements.
- Maintains an effective working knowledge of the computer and communications industry.
- Monitors existing systems and services for efficient operation; changes as required.
- Reports evaluation and implementation results to senior management and other individuals as appropriate
- Provides computing consulting and support services to business partners and other stakeholders.
- Reviews computer and communications technology with Company management to give and gain insight into how that technology can best be applied to meet business needs.
- Guides and supports site personnel in their implementation and use of computer and communications technology.
- Develops and reviews Corporate standards and guidelines for computers, communications equipment, networking services, and computer software.
- Maintains a working knowledge of current business requirements.
- Evaluates computing hardware and software for consistency with business requirements, ease of use, technical and end-user support requirements.
- Publishes standards and guidelines for the acquisition of computer and communications services.
- Reviews computer and communications projects and CPA’s for consistency with Corporate standards and guidelines.
- Develops and maintains hiring standards and training/development programs that ensure that the IT department maintains a high level of technical skill and proficiency.
- Trains department employees on computer and communications systems functions and operations as needed.
- Assists Director conduct performance reviews of infrastructure team members
- Jointly with the CIO and IT Director, sets standards and procedures for selecting and interviewing candidates for open positions within the department.
