Job Description

The Manufacturing Process Engineer supports production as process owner. This position involves close interaction with different engineering disciplines and production personnel. Ability to work in a team environment is a must. Applicant must be comfortable in a fast paced, dynamic work environment. A strong commitment to continuous improvement and Root Cause Corrective Action is required.

The position requires troubleshooting and operation of production/testing equipment, development and construction of new equipment, and upgrades to existing equipment and procurement and acceptance of equipment and upgrades to meet customer demand and business objectives.

The Manufacturing Process Engineering position will be responsible for day to day engineering and problem solving. This position will have responsible for ensuring targets are met with regard to safety, quality, cost and delivery by reducing scrap, improving cycle time, and other process improvements for their respective area. In this role, the incumbent will work hand in hand with Maintenance, Operations, Quality, and Logistics to ensure that we are meeting our targets.

Manufacturing

  • Responsible for maintaining process instructions and documentation, Control plans and PFMEA.
  • Promote a safe work environment
  • Lead continuous improvement projects together with team, lead plant, and support groups
  • Utilize Plan Do Check Act methodology to control process areas and drive sustainable improvement

Production Support

  • Provide shop floor support to resolve daily process related issues by working with product and process engineers, planners, supervisors and direct employees
  • Lead troubleshooting of product and process equipment as needed.
  • Integrate new products and processes into existing manufacturing capabilities
  • Define, measure, analyze, implement and improve process capability of assembly and test processes
  • Use Bosch Production System principles to identify and make improvements
  • Gather information related to preventative maintenance of equipment for use by Plant Maintenance
  • Develop quality solutions in response to customer rejections and implement permanent corrective actions
  • Understand product cost drivers and implement changes to reach cost targets
  • Establish and maintain production routings
  • Use of SAP, Microsoft Office software and a personal computer for basic data input/inquiries/retrieval as well as for production of standards reports
  • Control and assess possible bottleneck situations in production process
  • Performs other essential and related peripheral duties as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, and Mechatronic Engineering or other technical field from an accredited degree program (i.e. CHEA) with 3+ years relevant experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Control systems (i.e. I/O, PLC, wiring, electrical components)
  • Experience with the FMEA process
  • Demonstrated project execution
  • Familiar with programming languages (such as Python, LabVIEW, Visual Basic, SQL Server, Java) and CAD software
  • Able to demonstrate aptitude for mechanical and electrical systems and a basic knowledge of hydraulic components
  • Good interpersonal and project management skills with the ability to summarize and recommend alternative ideas
  • Highly organized self-starter and use of good judgment
  • Strong analytical skills and technical detail oriented
  • Familiar with Lean Manufacturing concepts, SPC techniques, and application of problem-solving tools in a production environment
  • Understanding of industrial machine safety requirements, including arc flash, ergonomics and control system functionality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
