We’re looking for an enthusiastic

Procurement Manager to join our Procurement & Logistics team, coordinating and monitoring procurement and contract administration efforts on assigned procurement projects.

You’ll schedule, oversee, and direct activities associated with project-related capital procurement and contracts administration of equipment, trade subcontracts, materials and professional services. Weekly procurement coordination meetings will be conducted with the client(s) and IPS project team(s). You’ll manage procurement progress and workflow through our project procurement plan (PPP) and project purchased materials management (PPMM) tracking tools. The team will rely on you to negotiate and manage favorable agreements with subcontractors, suppliers, and professional services providers. You will advise and direct Procurement Specialists, Procurement Buyers and Expeditors, while working in concert with our logistics team members to assure equipment and materials are delivered to the project site on time and ready for installation by our construction teams.

Quality, accuracy, and completeness of department work will be ensured along with compliance with established IPS standards and procedures. You will also be involved in the development of departmental policies, standard operating procedures (SOP’s), tools, templates and work instructions governing the procurement function. More junior members of the procurement team will look to you for mentorship and coaching along with project-specific guidance. Communication is key, as you conduct regular meetings with procurement specialists, project managers and project leaders of all disciplines. You’ll collaborate with other Procurement Managers to workload level and share resources across the broader organization.

Qualifications & Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, or Engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in leading and executing procurement on capital design/construction projects in a highly-regulated industry environment (pharmaceutical, biotech, nuclear, oil & gas, aviation, etc.), supply chain management and/or construction administration.
  • A minimum of 5 years management responsibility in procurement & contracts.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree or MBA
  • APICS certification (CSCP or CPSM)
  • CSCP certification
  • Procore proficiency
  • Working knowledge of Construction Law as it pertains to capital project contracting.
  • Ability to work with and manage clients, suppliers and subcontractors in a services-based industry while working within a center-led, regionally based highly matrixed organization.
  • Effective communication skills particularly in negotiation and conflict resolution.

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT

This position may require periodic travel to headquarters/regional offices, client sites and/or subcontractor/supplier sites. Travel (outside of regional office or remote working location if applicable) is less than 10% and consists mainly of presentations or other project-related meetings with clients or suppliers. Work environment is office-based either remote, in a regional office or at client sites (job trailers and/or client-supplied workstation). Position is required to maintain proficiency in OSHA regulations (must complete OSHA 10 training at minimum). Position is required to enroll in and satisfactorily complete all IPS-scheduled training obligations. Training is conducted and monitored through the IPS Learning Management System (on-line).
