Position Summary : WIRESYNC is seeking experienced Structured Cable Technicians to provide assistance with the installation, termination, and testing of various types of voice/data cable.
Ideal Candidate must have the following experience : Experience working with various cables including: twisted pair, coax, category 5, Category 6, single and multi-mode fiber optic cables. Cable installations including: pulling, placement, termination, testing, and labeling.
Experienced Cable Technicians will have significant exposure to the following:
- Knowledge of cabling for security systems, telecom, CCTV, and Data networks.
- Pulling, testing, and terminating CAT5 and CAT6 in commercial environments.
- Fiber experience ( Pulling/Terminating) is a Plus
- 66 block and 110 block terminations
- Termination of voice/data jacks in walls and patch panels
- Must understand and have knowledge of ANSI/TIA/EIA, NEC, the telecom color code, and have experience with jack termination and patch panels.
- Installation of cable trays, J hooks, and D rings, network equipment, cabinets and racks
- Must be able to work up to 32feet high above the floor
- Must be able to read a blueprint
- Must be proficient with light carpentry and mechanical skills such as drilling, mounting, cutting and patching all types of surfaces such as drywall, concrete, cieling tiles, vinyl, ceramic, steel and metal surfaces
- Cable installation methods such as installing cable in conduit using fish tape, pull string
- Ability to mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, and patch panels.
- Ability to route cables through cubicles, fish lines through walls, and across ceilings.
- Experience with DMARC rooms and telecom equipment such as RJ-21X

- Must be able to work in schools in the summer
- Must be neat and have attention to detail
