DescriptionEastern Berks County company is seeking a staff accountant to join their team. The Staff Accountant II position is responsible for the timely and accurate payment of invoices and expense reimbursement. This position will share the responsibilities below with the other Staff Accountant II positions within company. and both will take an active role in the month end process. They are also responsible for making sure employees follow established policies and procedures.Responsibilities Processing invoices using proper accounting methods for vouching invoices and matching purchase orders and receipts. Processing the credit card bills by matching expense reports to expenditures, and properly coding for entry into the general ledger. Processing weekly check-run and positive pay. Verifying accurate aging schedules with vendors. Reconciling the Open P/O report on a monthly basis. Reconcile petty cash. Maintaining the W-9 records. Completing Vendor credit applications. Invoicing of products and services for both the U.S. and Canadian operations. Timely opening and closing of sales orders for both in the U.S. and in Canada. Processing the daily cash receipts for the bank, and credit card payments. Assist with preparing and providing financial information for outside accountants (in the U.S. and Canada) as needed and at year-end. Assist with physical inventories and managing proper procedures, changes, and reconciliation. Process credit applications and check customer references. Generate D&B reports. Assist with issuing invoices, opening orders, and reconciling accounts. Assist with preparation of the monthly departmental budget reports. Processing of credit card payments. Preparing journal entries and adjusting entries for various accounts. Preparing inventory transfers for the proper movement of items through the system. Entering and preparing various journal entries for multiple companies. Reconciling multiple balance sheet accounts and provide analysis. Timely and accurately address financial questions or concerns. Responsible to implement and maintain strong, effective internal controls over accounting. Provide accounting support and assistance to complete special projects as assigned. Complete all tasks and handle all situations in accordance with company’s Core Values. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, or participating in professional organizations. Communicate in a clear, concise and timely manner, including voicemail and email. Always promote and uphold the values, mission, and vision of the company. Read, understand, and comply with the Employee Handbook. Promote and adhere to all defined policies, processes, and procedures. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Well organized. Congenial to both internal and external customers, while maintaining a professional attitude and demeanor. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to handle many tasks simultaneously. Good working knowledge of Excel and Word. Good problem solving ability. Aptitude for numbers. Ability to follow Gateway policy and procedures, and nicely influence others to do the same. Accurate entry of data into the accounting system. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Keeping accurate and thorough records. Entries into the accounting systems must be accurate and timely. An understanding of the General ledger, and its interaction with accounts payable. Working additional hours beyond regularly scheduled hours as requested by management.
