Job Description

ThePlantController is responsible for providing comprehensive financialleadership to theplant by functioning as the leadfinanceprofessional.

What will you do?

  • Manage the Accounting department to ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting activities, includingperiod closing and reporting, inventory valuation,fixed asset management,product costing, and overall asset, liability, and cost control
  • Create bottoms-up annual budgets and forecasts; be able to highlight major changes and work with site management team to close any gaps to target.
  • Understand, analyze, report and present financial performance andkey metrics (recurring and ad-hoc)to both internal plant individuals as well as external corporate employees. Develop metrics to address operational performance as issues arise.
  • Proactively monitor and identifyfinancialvariancesand related implicationsand provide perspective on appropriate actions required tomitigate unfavorable variances
  • Understand, interpret,and communicate thecost absorption impacts of decisions regarding expense and capitalexpenditures
  • Be a business partner toPlantManagementand participate with site management team to deliver site safety, cost, quality, service,and production objectives. Analyze financial impact and recommend actions for scenarios within the plant.
  • Manage daily activities of staff analysts/accountants and develop them in their roles
  • Ensure a strong internal control environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, CPA/CMA certification or advanced degree a plus
  • Cost Accounting Experience
  • 5+yearsofexperience at amanufacturingfacility
  • 3-5yearsofexperience as a Plant Controller
  • Demonstrated strong analytical experience /quantitative skills
  • Effective communicator with the ability to interface with other operational areas at all levels
  • Be a self-starter who is comfortable with forging his/her own path but also knows when to ask for help
