The Azure Cloud Engineer is part of the Cloud Center of Excellence team collaborating with other infrastructure architects and specialists partnering with all levels of IS staff and management to deliver business outcomes. The ideal candidate for this role will have a solid understanding of cloud computing, technology systems and current trends. Major Duties/Responsibilities: Supports a systematic engineering approach to the design, architecture, requirements elicitation, development, operation, and use of cloud technologies and platforms for mission solutions. Collaborates with data and technology business partners to understand the business needs from viewpoint of cloud infrastructure. Designing and maintaining cloud infrastructure resources via automated CI/CD pipelines and tooling in a hybrid cloud environment. Ability to manage Azure Cloud subscriptions and resources, implement and manage storage, deploy and manage virtual machines, configure and manage virtual networks, and manage identities Architects, plans, and implements cloud infrastructure solutions that balance simplicity, standards, scalability, extensibility, supportability, and integrity. Documents engineering standards, proposals, and/or recommendations for system design, engineering changes, and configuration management relating to cloud infrastructure. Ensures technical solutions meet the quality, security, and compliance requirements. Regularly evaluates existing cloud infrastructure to identify risks or opportunities for improvement. Experience migrating and deploying Azure cloud-based solutions. Maintains the day-to-day health of the cloud infrastructure, taking all steps to ensure its productivity and optimization. Actively engage with clients to develop the trust and credibility to help them grow their businesses by solving strategic and tactical business problems. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or similar field. Experience: Azure certification highly desired (e.g. in areas of cloud architecture, data services, and security). Minimum of 3+ years of experience designing, executing, and supporting IT cloud solutions. Minimum 3+ years of experience with Linux, and Windows Server OS Lifecycle activities including deployment, configuration management, patching, and package management Minimum 3+ years of experience with scripting languages such as Terraform, Azure CLI, PowerShell, Bash, Python Minimum 3+ years of experience leveraging APIs via scripting Extensive knowledge of Linux based systems including Hardware, software, network, and storage Practical experience with architecture, implementation, and operation of complex multi-vendor, multi-server network infrastructures in support of a mission-critical enterprise environment. Experience with DevOps procedures and processes and with working in an Agile environment Solid experience supporting and integrating hybrid cloud architecture, on-prem, multiple cloud providers, and PaaS/SaaS providers. Experience supporting ADF, ADLS, Databricks, SQL, storage accounts, key vaults, private endpoints, private DNS zones, Containers, and Azure Dev Ops. Experience supporting hub and spoke networking with ExpressRoute connectivity. Experience implementing highly available solutions.
