Job Description

The Business Development Associate (BDA) will support the Business Development Directors with territory research, intelligence gathering, and cold email/calls to contact potential new clients and generate new business leads.

Prospecting and outreach activities are not limited to just email/calling. The BDA will work with Business Development Directors to execute campaigns. Examples include networking events, workshops, hand-delivering marketing materials, and other special events.

Beyond daily territory prospecting and outreach to target accounts, the BDA will complete market research projects, conference campaigns, special research projects, and maintain clean Salesforce data.

The BDA will prepare a weekly report detailing efforts to achieve territory goals, progress report with assigned accounts, and other activities that will be shared with the Head of Business Development, North America, and relevant Business Development Directors.

Specific Duties:

  • Identify potential accounts and opportunities
  • Qualify potential accounts and opportunities that meet company’s target profile
  • Represent PSI at industry events and conferences
  • Help BD Directors execute territory plans
  • Implement entry strategy to gain meetings with key decision makers on potential accounts
  • Help to implement processes with BD, B & C and Operations to add strategic value to each opportunity
  • Lead generation and implementation of territory plans
  • Foster key relationships with targeted accounts: vendor sourcing, clinical operations personnel
  • Joint calls with BD Director to targeted accounts
  • Learn and represent PSI services for PSI BD calls
  • Liaise with senior operational and BD executives to identify needed services
  • Follow up on public leads to qualify opportunity
  • Research Business Intelligence activities to identify key decision makers and opportunities
  • Act as super-user for SFDC and other databases utilized to support company research and sales
  • Update and maintain sales reports to provide updates to Senior Management
  • Track and update opportunities and establishing activities/tasks for BDD follow up
  • Support and train for BDD

Core Responsibilities:

  • Territory Research/Intelligence Gathering and Outreach (70%/28 hours per week)
  • Conference Research and Prep (10%/4 hours per week)
  • Market Research and other identified projects (10%/4 hours per week)
  • Salesforce Maintenance (5%/ 2 hours per week)
  • Administrative Tasks and Internal Meetings (5%/2 hours per week)

Qualifications

The BDA should have at least 2 years of experience working in sales, marketing, or communications. Experience at a life sciences company or degree in science is preferred.

  • Good understanding of clinical operations
  • Has developed and implemented successful strategic plans with targets and timelines
  • Has experience working in a matrix position to leverage all aspects of the internal organization

  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with vendor sourcing and clinical operational people to gain information and develop a relationship

Office-based in RTP or KOP.
