Job Description

Harsco is looking for a Senior Internal Auditor to support the evolution of the department following recent acquisitions and expansion in the US. We are looking for an experienced and qualified internal audit professional with forward looking prospective, who will work across our global organization to identify risks, help manage their impact on the organization, and influence decisions in the business.

You will lead assurance and advisory projects globally including standard assurance, advisory, process improvement, data analytical as well as business support on specific projects.

You will thrive in this position if you are a good relationship builder and enjoy working in a high-performing and highly collaborative international team environment. Additionally, you will provide insights on new ways to perform internal audits and counsel the business teams about risk/process/control improvements. Ideal candidates have experience working with data analytics and developing innovative and agile audit methodologies.

This role is based in the Philadelphia (King of Prussia) area and will report to the Audit Manager North America as well as the Director of Internal Audit in London, UK. Travel to US locations will be required (on average 25%) as well as occasional international travel.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Plan financial and operational audit engagements utilizing a risk-based framework and data analytics techniques.
  • Execute financial and operational audits at worldwide locations consistent with Harsco’s audit approach.

  • Identify audit issues and effectively communicate findings and solutions verbally and in writing to Management.
  • Assist in reviewing Sarbanes Oxley management testing and provide training to management testers and control owners, particularly those centralized in the India Global Service Center.
  • Perform special projects as assigned by your manager (acquisition integration, due diligence, divestitures, investigations and other financial assistance).

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects in the department.
  • Ability to work remotely in a Global team based all over the world.
  • Pre-scheduled global and domestic travel approximately 25%, though flexible given remote audit techniques being further enhanced, such as use of data analytics.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • Certified Public Accountant.
  • Five years’ experience in internal auditing, public accounting or financial accounting and analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience auditing in global manufacturing environments

  • Certified Fraud Examiner and/or Certified Internal Auditor certifications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley and COSO internal controls framework.
  • Previous experience planning risk-based audits.
  • Previous Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement experience.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and strong MS Excel skills.
  • Experience with audit workpaper software and data extraction software such as AuditBoard, Oracle and JDE.
  • Bilingual candidates are preferable, particularly English and Mandarin/Spanish/Portuguese (professional proficiency)
