What you get to do:
As a Cook, you’ll prepare high quality food that meets SeaWorld standards by following menu specifications. You will follow all safety and HACCP guidelines, use proper protective gear, and test food temperatures. You will also:
- Engage with ambassadors and guests alike with the highest levels of service excellence
- Ensure highest standards of food quality and product presentation through menu adherence
- Ensure proper portion and recipe execution through use of established tools
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, sanitation and safety and assigned kitchen and food prep work areas
- Assist guest with allergen requests as needed
- Execute food preparation and cooking of raw vegetables, proteins, sauces and other which can include use of smokers, grills, wok stations, steam kettles and large bakery style mixing equipment
- Maintain product and supply stocks of assigned kitchen / food prep / work space locations which includes large walk in coolers and freezers
- Perform other duties as assigned
- At least 16 years of age
- Ability to work with all food types, including food allergens, in any dining facility
- At least 3 months of cooking experience or a combination of cooking experience AND culinary arts education
- Basic knife skills
- Ability to pass all food safety test
- Ability to use protective gear and kitchen equipment
- Ability to stand for entire shift
- Ability to lift, carry and push/pull up to 55 lbs.
- Ability to use cleaning chemicals as well as work in all weather conditions
- Scheduling flexibility
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-production environment
- Strong communication, interpersonal and guest service skills
- Ability to prepare special dietary meals
- In-depth food safety and allergen knowledge a plus
