Looking for an upbeat, technically-savvy, daring leader to take our AI/ML Enablement capabilities to the next level. Play a key role supporting our AI/ML data and engineering needs to fuel differentiated product research and development. Partnering with our Data Management and Data Engineering Teams, you will be essential in maturing Enterprise Advice's data and analytics maturity and creating a 'data-first' mentality and data-driven organization.

As the Team Manager for the AI/ML Enablement Team, you will be providing leadership for AI/ML-related data, infrastructure, and engineering projects, often with cross-divisional and enterprise impact, ensuring that all projects under management meet expected delivery dates, budget allocations, and regulatory requirements. You will lead and advise the activities of highly technical AI/ML, DevOps, and engineering specialists working in cloud-native technology to build an optimal ecosystem for our Data Scientists to develop Advice-related products and support methodology and research.

Responsibilities:
  • Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew. Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Leads Crew and project activities for technology-related AI/ML engineering projects. Drives all phases of the project lifecycle from inception through implementation while ensuring that business objectives are delivered with high quality and within targeted timeframes.
  • Leads all aspects of all project-level communication and organizational change activities in support of all project workstreams. Triages capacity, complexity, and scope of project messaging and delivery of all communications.
  • Builds and maintains relationships across sub-divisions and both internal and external partners to support project initiatives. Develops strong relationships with project leadership and workstream leads. Influences key decisions across partners.
  • Assists team with the identification, evaluation, and resolution of potential obstacles which may have an impact on the completion of technology projects or communications. Elevates items of high concern to senior management, focusing on recommended courses of action.
  • Coordinates with Leadership Team to ensure efficient resource utilization and prioritization across the Data Engineering and Management Teams.
  • Ensures effective communication and education to manage partner expectations and drive data and AI/ML fluency across the organization, coordinating and collaborating with Teams.
  • Creates and owns dashboard for current OKRs and around resource utilization, capacity, and prioritization.
  • Ensures alignment with EA Data Science Center of Excellence Team.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five years related work experience.
  • Data engineering knowledge
  • Data Science and/or AI/ML engineering knowledge
  • Curiosity and an avid learner
  • Strong problem solving skills and capability to understand and set direction for complex technology projects
  • Strong communication skills
  • Collaboration skills
  • Previous people or technical leadership, or project management experience

It would be great (but not required) if you had experience with:
  • Financial Services experience
  • Experience with big data
  • Background in Data Science, Mathematics or Statistics
  • Experience working with micro-services architecture
  • Experience using Amazon SageMaker, EMR, or Kinesis
  • Knowledge of AWS CodePipeline, Bamboo, or similar CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience in deploying infrastructure as code (IaC) using popular IaC frameworks such AWS CloudFormation, Troposphere or Terraform.
  • Supervising and alerting production workloads in AWS
