Shop and Site Supervisor

Job Description

Primary purpose is to supervise both shop and site work for Altek US operations to ensure monthly targets for production, installations, and service responsiveness are met. This role is expected to fully understand and be able/willing to build and service the equipment on ALTEK and customers sites while also setting standards, coordinating schedules, communicating remote support with the customer, and ensuring equipment is built to drawings/standards.

• Ensure safety compliance for shop and site work.
• Plan and oversee weekly tasks for workshop and site work to meet production expectations.
• Develop and maintain a 48-hr on-site time responsiveness for customer issues.
• Ensure inventory of parts are kept to quickly support equipment at site
• Improve equipment wiring efficiency and standardization among different products and units.
• Support workshop electrical tasks as needed.
• Provide feedback of equipment build and site work teams to quality and engineering

• Assist with workshop tasks and equipment production as needed to meet plan objectives.
• Liaise with customer maintenance personnel and Altek field service technicians to ensure maintenance is performed safely and to the customer’s satisfaction.
• Perform equipment site work when needed as support to the service technicians to allow for proper responsiveness to customer issues
• Oversee and assist with troubleshooting of equipment and provide feedback to quality and engineering team for continuous improvement
• Install software on equipment ready to test.
• Develop new and maintain existing SOP’s and Risk Assessments for routine service, equipment manufacturing, and shop activities

Qualifications

• Technical Degree or equivalent relevant experience
• Electrical expertise preferred
• 3+ years of experience with equipment manufacture/service
• Supervisor experience required
• Equipment service/site work experience preferred

• Ability to read and understand technical drawings of electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Knowledge and experience installing and troubleshooting PLCs
• Beckhoff experience is a plus
• Aluminum Industry experience is a plus
• Eplan electrical experience is a plus
• OSHA training is a plus
• NFPA 70-E training a plus
• MS Suite skills required
• MS Project experience a plus

• Supervisor position – 3 direct reports
• US Office
• Some travel required (30-40% estimated)
