At YSB, we work hard to make kids matter every day! We are a non-profit organization that has prevention programs, family services, and residential homes. We are searching for a Full Time Family Counselor in our Reunification Program. Some of the position responsibilities include:

Responsibilities:

Utilizing available history, team input and early interaction with family, assesses and plans for a course of reunification services.

Provides intensive in-home services to further the goals of the reunification plan. Services typically include: individual and family sessions, sessions with caregivers and / or extended family, supervising visits, and engaging with families in day-to-day activities to teach and model.

Increase safety for children through observation and intervention in the home and community, drug testing as indicated, and role modeling.

Utilizes appropriate evidence-based curriculum following extensive training.

Manages all aspects of assigned cases including extensive case management through gathering information, phone contacts, follow up, and accompanying and supporting clients in various arenas.

Develops and maintains ongoing professional relationships within the community related to children, youth, and families including, but not limited to, County CYS and JPO staff, school personnel, treatment providers.

Testifies in court for assigned cases.

Maintains up-to-date case records, statistics and service plans.

Seeks out and utilizes consultation to increase professional skill level and translates that skill into day-to-day family work.

Participates in all staff meetings and all in-service training sessions or training deemed appropriate and necessary for proper or increased job performance.
