We're hiring! Join our team as we help families find the mental health support they need for their children.

You're a perfect candidate if you have lived experience raising a child with social, emotional, or behavior challenges (including autism) or if your child was diagnosed with a mental health disability. Parenting grandparents (grandfamilies) are encouraged to apply!

Candidates should live in one of the following counties: Centre, Lycoming, Northumberland, Northampton, Lackawanna, Fulton, Franklin, York, Cumberland, Schuylkill or Dauphin.

Job Summary:

The Outreach Assistant must be a creative problem solver and detail-oriented, demonstrate the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication, organizational skills, and the ability to balance multiple priorities. Must have the ability to work independently on projects, from conception to completion, and handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Network and build trusting relationships with families, agencies, organization, community members and other PA Family Alliance employees.

Make routine visits to meet with the local community and agencies/organizations with a child and mental

health focus.

Post about our services and events as well as promote local support groups and services online (e.g., social

media and forums)

Increase community knowledge and awareness about family run organizations and the services they can

provide.

Identify appropriate outreach events to participate in in the local area, and coordinate with the Director for

approval.

Coordinate proper follow up with all referral sources and be efficient with follow up in a timely manner.

Maintains database from community contacts and marketing events.

Complete time tracking and expense reports

Document community events through video, photos, etc.

Assist with annual conference planning

Occasional overnight travel, scheduled in advance

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

At least one year of demonstrated experience in community organizing, advertising, marketing or outreach

activities.

Lived experience raising children with social, emotional, behavioral and/or mental health challenges.

Excellent computer skills and ability to learn new programs.

Experience working in a remote environment a plus.

Travel, Special Conditions, or Requirements:

Possession of a valid Pennsylvania drivers license and reliable means of transportation required.

Reliable internet access is required.

Have car insurance at $100,000/$300,000.

Must be able to travel locally, out-of-county, and nationally as needed.

This position requires Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Act 33/34 and Federal childrens clearances.

Hours, Salary, and Benefits:

Position is 10 hours per week with flexibility as agreed upon with the Program Director. Paid Time Off (PTO) and holiday time. The hourly rate is $14-$15 hourly with a $20 monthly communication reimbursement. Mileage reimbursed.
