Calculus AB $25 per hour, between 6 and 8 +/- hours per week during the school year excluding holidays and vacations.
This is a private tutoring position for a family with two children (who were, prior to Covid-19) in public school on the Main Line. Most of the tutoring will focus upon our 11th grader who is taking a difficult Calculus and course. Additional work includes helping to prepare and study for tests in different subjects such as AP US History.
You should be very proficient in high level math. All tutoring is done at our house in Haverford from 4pm to 10 pm week nights and during daytime hours on the weekend. Hours are flexible depending on our mutual schedules.
We prefer a graduate student with a Math and Engineering / CompSci background or a current/prior teacher. Graduate students or recent graduates preferred. A professional demeanor is required but our family atmosphere is relaxed. You must be comfortable using online resources to review and teach subjects since so much excellent material is available online.
We live near the Merion Cricket Club in Haverford. Since you will become "part of our family", we would prefer someone who lives within a 30 minute commute. A comprehensive background check and references are required.
