Position Description: Job Summary:As a member of the Information Services (IS) organization, serves as the liaison between the entity/site and Corporate IS. Works closely with IS and health system leadership to ensure both the entity/site and health system goals/objectives receive the proper Information Services support. Demonstrates healthcare information systems knowledge and skill in areas such as technology, clinical, financial and administrative applications. This position works closely with informatics teams, department directors and clinical leadership in identifying IS solutions for operational needs by participating in informatics committees and providing consultative services with new project requests. As Site Director, key responsibility is providing timely and appropriate communication about IS initiatives that may impact operational use of computer or telecommunication systems - either planned or emergent. Collaborates to enhance operational efficiencies while leveraging peer IS resources, engaging external expertise and maintaining strong relationships with internal business units and clients. This position may direct the day-to-day activities of End User Support, Network and Clinical Engineering teams.

Accountabilities:• Demonstrates broad and diverse healthcare information systems knowledge and skill in areas such as technology, clinical, financial and administrative applications. Directs and monitors activities within these areas to ensure effective and efficient operations.• Develops collaborative partnerships with entity/site leaders and Informatics teams in order to enable entity specific activities.• Works with other Information Services leaders, as well as vendor partners, to coordinate the delivery of business solutions. • Delivers service in a fashion that supports enterprise standards. • Follows up on requested service support and keeps entity/site leadership informed regarding project status.• Directs day to day functions of IS (EUS, Clinical Engineering and Network) teams within entity/site, depending on assigned location.• Participates in standard Corporate IS meetings (i.e.: Project Intake, Technology Review, etc.) to ensure proper processes are utilized for project and/or new technology review.• Provides input for Corporate IS operational improvements.• Works with entity/site leaders to understand project requirements, develop initial project requests and help provide high-level estimates of project timelines and effort.• Serves as communication liaison to entity/site leadership on IS initiatives, system outages and service recovery activity.• Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures• Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization

Minimum Requirements: Required Education and Experience:• Bachelor's Degree required• Current Internal Penn Medicine Information Services division employees may be considered with proof of active and continued enrollment in an approved bachelor degree program• Master's Degree preferred • 7+ years of professional Information Technology experience in a complex healthcare environment required• 5+ years of management or leadership experience required

Required Skills and Abilities:• Ability to communicate technical information and ideas• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from others• Ability to communicate with internal and external constituents• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff• Demonstrated understanding of health care operations and delivery• Ability to analyze, diagnose, suggest and implement process changes. • Demonstrated technical acumen as it relates to network, desktop, clinical engineering and healthcare applications.• Ability to influence business decisions by presenting strong IS and leadership best practices. • Ability to effectively lead high performing teams. • Ability to quickly assess operational workflows and proactively offer change management guidance.

Additional Information: As part of our COVID-19 response, this position may currently be offering partial or full remote work. However, in the near future this position will require full or partial on-site work.
