Position Description: This position may be filled at the Senior, Mid or Associate Integration Developer level!

Sr. Integration Developer

Job Summary:

As a part of Penn Medicine's Corporate Information Services organization, the Senior Integration Developer joins other members of the Application Integration team in providing real-time interface and other data transfer capabilities to enterprise systems in a complex, multi-facility healthcare technology environment.

Utilizing Intersystems's Ensemble integration platform, the Senior Integration Developer performs run and maintain tasks across a vast architecture of real-time interfaces between key Penn Medicine systems. In addition, the Senior Integration Developer may be assigned to several different project teams at any given time, partnering with other Penn Medicine colleagues and vendor resources to implement new systems and enhancements to existing processes.

Accountabilities:• Provides subject matter expertise in the area of HL7 interfaces (message composition and interface processing).• Maintains architecture of interface components in the enterprise integration engine (Intersystems's Ensemble). Supports scheduled afterhours maintenance activities as needed.• Participates in weekly on call rotation for afterhours support of interface processes. Engages service desk associates and other support personnel for remediation of application related issues. Manages service desk tickets, supplying regular analysis/updates through resolution. • Collaborates with systems analysts, infrastructure engineers, project managers, vendor technical resources, end users, and/or other operational stakeholders on project teams to install new or enhance existing enterprise systems with real time HL7 interfaces and/or other data integration services. Provides occasional onsite support at command centers for major system go lives.• Performs a variety of tasks in support of file transfer processes, including the development of custom-scripted or engine-configured transfer jobs and the administration of FTP accounts.• Adheres to all organizational and departmental policies and requirements. Submits and presents change requests in compliance with Information Services change control procedures. Attends regular staff meetings. Actively engages in discussions on matters pertaining to internal team objectives.• Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures• Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization

Integration Developer

Job Summary:

As a part of Penn Medicine's Corporate Information Services organization, the Integration Developer teams with other members of the Application Integration group to provide real-time interfacing and other data exchange capabilities to enterprise systems in a complex, multi-facility healthcare technology environment.

Utilizing Intersystems' Ensemble integration platform, the Integration Developer provides run and maintain functions to a vast architecture of real-time interfaces between key Penn Medicine systems, including the participation in an on call rotation to provide after-hours support. In addition, the Integration Developer takes on a number of concurrent projects, partnering with other Penn Medicine colleagues and vendor resources for establishing new and enhancing existing enterprise systems. Accountabilities:• Takes part in cross-disciplinary project teams to install/enhance systems with real time HL7 interfaces and/or other data integration services. • Participates in weekly on call rotation for afterhours support of interface processes.• Manages service desk tickets with regular service updates through resolution.• Submits and presents change requests in compliance with Information Services change control procedures.• Attends regular staff meetings and contributes to discussions on matters pertaining to internal team objectives.• Supports scheduled afterhours maintenance tasks as needed.• Provides occasional onsite support at command centers for major system go lives.• Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures• Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization

Associate Integration Developer

Minimum Requirements: Sr. Integration Developer

Required Education and Experience:• Bachelor's Degree required, in Computer/Information Science or related field preferred • Current Internal Penn Medicine Information Services division employees may be considered with proof of active and continued enrollment in an approved bachelor degree program • 2+ years of professional experience as an Integration analyst/engineer in healthcare technology required• 5+ years of professional Healthcare application/systems analyst experience with exposure to HL7 interfaces required

Required Skills and Abilities:• Experience with computer languages to develop programs/routines/scripts required• Proficiency with programming & troubleshooting techniques required• Experience with structured query language (SQL) to create, collect, and extract information stored in databases preferred• Familiarity with Linux or Unix based operating systems preferred• Knowledge of computer performance fundamentals (memory, disk I/O, CPU) with understanding of how they relate to software functionality preferred
