Oversees the planning, assessment, implementation, and continuous enhancement of all facets of credit & collection functions and procedures.
Collaborates with the Finance Committee on all credit and collection matters.
Regularly meets with the committee to discuss issues related to Accounts Receivable (A/R) and unbilled time, and propose specific action plans for A/R, such as payment schemes, halting client work or declining additional tasks.
Aids in outlining specific collection goals and strives to meet them.
Establishes and nurtures professional relationships with clients and lawyers.
Collaborates closely with Partners to address any concerns about credit and collection with both existing and prospective clients.
Engages with attorneys to evaluate the credit reliability of possible clients. Proposes retainer recommendations upon client approval.
Engages directly with clients to resolve arrears in receivables.
Utilizes necessary software systems such as Juris, Star Collect, and other credit assessment programs to ensure job performance.
Requirements
The ideal Collections Manager candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education.Other requirements for the Collections Manager position include and are not limited to:
5+ years of experience in the commercial sector.
2+ years experience in a collections or credit role.
Professional services industry experience preferred.
Star Collect preferred, not required
Proficient in Microsoft Office, with especially strong Excel skills
Excellent support skills, ability to work well under pressure, professional demeanor and strong written and oral communication skills.
