Location: Philadelphia, PA Description: Our client is currently seeking a Data Modeler to join their data platform team in their Philadelphia location (2-3x onsite per week). This will be a long term, W2 contract.
High-Level Notes •Will be doing modeling, analysis, and visualization (light) •This role is more on the ingestion side, but there will be some backend work •Bring in data through a graph database and drop it in S3 •Some scripting knowledge needed to manipulate data Responsibilities:1.Analyzing and translating business needs into long-term solution data models.2.Evaluating existing data systems.3.Working with the development team to create conceptual data models and data flows.4.Developing best practices for data coding to ensure consistency within the system.5.Reviewing modifications of existing systems for cross-compatibility.6.Implementing data strategies and developing physical data models.7.Updating and optimizing local and metadata models.8.Evaluating implemented data systems for variances, discrepancies, and efficiency.9.Troubleshooting and optimizing data systems.10.Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports 11.Design and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality 12.Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets 13.Filter and clean data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to locate and correct problems 14.Work with management to prioritize business and information needs 15.Locate and define new process improvement opportunities. Provide architectural, best practice ideas and suggestions to better current setup. 16.Provide insight and analysis into data sets being modeled and ingested into framework.Qualifications:At least 3 years of hands-on experience with physical and relational data modeling.Required Technical Skills:1.Expert knowledge of metadata management and related tools.2.Knowledge of mathematical foundations and statistical analysis.3.Coding and design skills, particularly in Java/Scala and Python and or Java.4.Strong interpersonal skills.5.Excellent communication and presentation skills.6.Advanced troubleshooting skillsAdditional Requirements:•Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques•Good experience writing complex SQL and ETL processes•Experience working with large data volumes, including processing, transforming and transporting large-scale data•Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy•Data visualization tool experience (Tableau, Thoughtspot, Graphana)•Document design and data flow for existing and new applications being built. •Ability to "tell the story" using the different data parts located within our team and beyond.
