Inventory Accounting Manager

We operate in a fast-paced, changing environment.  This role will be part of the Accounting team and will report directly to Director, Accounting. The Inventory Accounting Manager owns the end-to-end inventory processes and provides analysis of company performance by collecting, interpreting, and presenting critical reports to Management. The Inventory Accounting Manager will lead a small team focused on inventory accounting. Clear communication skills, documentation skills, accuracy, and attention to detail are key requirements.The Inventory Accounting Manager Will: Coordinate the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of period-end close activities for inventory, related inventory reserves, and shrink, including journal entries and account reconciliations in accordance with reporting deadlines.Collaborate with FP&A, Accounts Payable, and Merchandise departments to record inventory and related expenses accurately.Monitor inventory accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.Develop, mentor, and train a small team of inventory accountants.Develop, implement, maintain, and document consistent accounting policiesSupport various aspects of our annual audit including but not limited to interim testing, year-end testing and managing audit requests.Conduct and manage special accounting projects as requestedProactive orientation and ability to manage and motivate the team through an evolving environment.
