ITAM Consultant REMOTE This position is for the IT Asset and Vendor Management track within the IT function. This specific role will be responsible for ITAM as it relates to software only. The consultant is involved in all phases of the software asset lifecycle. They analyze IT department needs by interfacing with IT leadership and collaborate with IT procurement to save money. The ITAM Consultant will provide the toolset used to prepare and deliver monthly operational views to stakeholders. The assignments they work on are difficult and mostly complex. They are responsible for leadership across multiple vendor relationships and work limited supervision. They interact with individuals at all levels and manage across organizational boundaries with the goal of understanding political drivers and influencers. They frequently consult with stakeholders regarding vendor relationships, performance, contract, or financial management as well as software services throughout the lifecycle of a contract. They are individual contributors with influence over team members and have executive presence. Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for IT Procurement requests for software licensing and vendor management • Provide leadership and support for specific strategic vendors and manage software spend of 1MM+ • Manage 1-2 large software renewals a month • Expert facilitation skills and proven executive presence • Accountable and responsible for leading vendor licensing audits working with legal • Responsible for working with Finance on monthly billing and allocations • Ensure the quality and integrity of IT procurement requests for software and licensing • Track and communicate identified risks and collaborate with others to manage vendor behavior • Proven ability to plan work for others and provide direction to team members to set priorities, lead governance, processes, and standards • Directly influence the customer experience through vendor management and lead and direct the process of onboarding new vendors • Accountable and responsible for networking with the Enterprise Architecture technology induction process • Responsible for tracking and investigating licensing compliance and license re-use for large spend • Maintain vendor scorecards and metrics and produce dashboards for IT leadership • Assure team members are adhering to internal standards, procedures and guidelines • Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical resources and between IT procurement, legal, finance and IT
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
  • Typically requires 7-10 years of experience in IT infrastructure or IT Asset Management or related discipline with a strong understanding of financial billing and financial drivers • SAM tool experience and IT Asset and Vendor management expertise preferred but not required • Strong understanding of market trends in the field or related field • Strong understanding of IT system architectures on-premise and cloud based solutions • Expert teamwork, interpersonal skills and leadership of cross-functional teams • Proven ability to rapidly assimilate products and processes and manage competing priorities • Expert understanding of information security, legal risk concepts, and IT governance • Ability to think and act strategically and work without close supervision • Strong organizational skills, very detail oriented • Strong dispute resolution and mediation skills • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills along with strong oral and written communication skills • Expert understanding of IT operations and governance • Proven executive presence • Strong data mining capabilities
