Position Description: Responsible for leading and managing the Desk Top & Local Area Network Teams in support of the Entity break/fix and activations. Responsible for working with Project Managers to support and provide input to entity projects. Responsible to oversee specific projects and functions as the escalation point for multiple concurrent projects where the teams implement new network connectivity and deploy new devices. Responsible as the first level of escalation at the entity level for all IS device & local area network related issues. Responsible for driving the root cause of issues to resolution and to ensure the team achieves project implementation dates as well as break/fix in a quality fashion with superior customer service. Develop detailed technical knowledge of systems and business processes and be able to identify process improvement initiatives and targeted opportunities for improvements. Manage and coordinate the development of new functionality, testing and implementing scheduled vendor releases and system upgrades, and fixing system defects. Develop the change management procedures and protocols for the department; create and maintain all documentation for all assigned applications and hardware, and develop, plan and execute testing for supported applications and hardware. Communicates all necessary application/hardware changes, enhancements, and procedures to all necessary internal department teams. Manage the performance of direct reports including: work assignments, goal setting and annual reviews, time and attendance, salary administration, etc.

Minimum Requirements: Degree Requirements and Minimum Experience Required: • Bachelor's Degree required.• Current Internal Penn Medicine Information Services division employees may be considered with proof of active and continued enrollment in an approved bachelor degree program. • At least 5 years' experience in Healthcare IT preferred

Skill Requirements: • Detail oriented, strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills required • Knowledge of healthcare operations and the use of information system applications in the practicing healthcare environment required• Knowledge of basic desktop, laptop, printer hardware configurations and local area network required.

Preferred Skills: • Management in desktop and local area network applications either in application support or implementation role.• Project Management skills and demonstrated experience• At least 1-2 years' supervisory experience• Experience with Project Management tools and methods• Ability to troubleshoot, research and solve technically challenging problems• Maintains a broad knowledge of the Microsoft, Nortel & Aruba environments• Ability to analyze, diagnose, suggest and implement process changes• Strong customer service orientation and ability to follow through issues to resolution.• Ability to interact with all levels of Health System personnel to include: IS management staff, consulting staff, clinicians, clinical administrators, etc.• Familiar with process improvement.• Must be able to function as part of a team providing a high level of quality service to clients.• Experience recruiting, building and managing high performing teams

Additional Information: As part of our COVID-19 response, this position may currently be offering partial or full remote work. However, in the near future this position will require full or partial on-site work.
