Responsibilities
Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Critical Care Transport Nurse II is primarily responsible for providing nursing care to patients during inter-facility and emergency transports in accordance with JeffSTAT's predetermined treatment protocols. The Critical Care Transport Nurse II acts as an ambassador of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital (TJUH), as he or she is often the first member of the Jefferson healthcare delivery team with whom the patient and their family will have contact.Experience Requirements1.) Three to five (3-5) years of previous experience in a ground or air critical care transport program or a hospital intensive care unit (ICU/CCU). The Critical Care Transport Nurse II shall be experienced and proficient in performing advanced life support skills such as intubation, IV insertion, medication administration, EKG interpretation, and chest decompression, NG/OG tube insertion, and chest tube maintenance.2.) Current medical command in good standing with the Philadelphia EMS Office or another region in Pennsylvania or New JerseyEducational / Training RequirementsDegree/Diploma Obtained Program of Study Required/PreferredAssociates Nursing Required OR College Diploma Nursing RequiredAdditional Training Requirements- Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing from an accredited NLN nursing school
- Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of PA, NJ, and DE
- Pre-Hospital Registered Nurse (PHRN) Pennsylvania
- Paramedic (EMT-P) Pennsylvania
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS) or Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support
- (PHTLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP)
- State driver's license free of chargeable offenses
