Jefferson Health in Center City is Now Hiring a RN, Coordinator of Patient Care Services for the Operating Room.

Primary ResponsibilitiesA registered nurse with responsibility to assist the Nurse Manager and nursing staff in ensuring compassionate, safe,quality care for patients and families, and managing and influencing clinical nursing practice, the interdisciplinary teamand the environment in which care is provided. Acts as a resource, role model and clinical leader for the patient careteam.

Essential Functions
  • Practices within the established policies and procedures of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Serves as a clinicalresource regarding policy and procedures, patient standards, performance improvement and risk management issues.
  • Expresses self orally in individual or group situations in a manner that delivers the message to nursing staff and otherhealth professionals in an accurate and appropriate manner.
  • Maintains open communication to health care providers and other supportive departments in order that quality patientcare will be delivered.
  • Approaches patient care team interactions with fairness, consistency and objectivity and supportive of a culture thatenhances nursing performance, job satisfaction and patient care team retention
  • Assesses patient needs and makes care recommendations based on the patient's physical, psychosocial and culturalneeds, age and functional status.
  • Monitors staff schedules to ensure adequate staffing to meet patient care needs and maintain quality patient care. Mayauthorize overtime or scheduling changes to fill shifts as necessary. Completes payroll in collaboration with NurseManager.
  • Supports a multidisciplinary model of care delivery via communication in collaboration with other health careprofessionals; including facilitation of bedside and/or plan of care rounds.
  • Follows up appropriately and effectively resolves customer and physician issues and complaints.
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the Hospital.

Experience Requirements
  • Three (3) years of nursing experience is required
  • demonstrated excellence in communication skills
  • demonstratedsuccessful coordinate/management of program or project
  • BSN
  • BLS

Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson's clinical entities or at the University. If you are not currently vaccinated you will be required to receive the vaccination prior to hire date if you are offered employment, unless you request and receive an approved medical or religious exemption from Jefferson.

Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.
