Job Summary

The Spiliotis lab (http://www.pages.drexel.edu/ets33/splash.html) in the Department of Biology at Drexel University (Philadelphia, PA), which conducts research in the spatial regulation of the cytoskeleton and membrane traffic, has a Post-doctoral Researcher position available for a motivated and career-driven scientist.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to pursue studies in an area of our lab's current interests, which include neurite morphogenesis and outgrowth, cancer cell migration and invasion, endolysosome membrane traffic, actin-microtubule crosstalk, and/or the regulation of microtubule motor motility. Our studies involve interdisciplinary collaborations with biochemistry, neurobiology and engineering labs at the Drexel College of Medicine and School of Biomedical Engineering. Our laboratory has an excellent track record of funding, mentoring and productivity, publishing consistently in premier journals of cell biology.

We use high- and super-resolution imaging, in vitro cell-free reconstitution of cytoskeleton dynamics and motor motility, protein biochemistry, primary neuronal cell cultures and 3D organoids, and molecular biology tools for gene targeting and editing. Applicants with experience in one or more of these methods are encouraged to apply.

The Spiliotis lab is housed in the Papadakis Integrated Sciences Building (PISB), a state-of-the-art five-story building, which includes a comprehensive light microscopy core facility with advanced imaging capabilities. including confocal, super resolution, and 2 photon excitation microscopy.
