Position Description: Job Summary:The Associate Vice President (AVP) of Information Services (IS) Operations, under the direction of the Chief Information Officer, is responsible for developing and leading a strategically-oriented organization supporting IS department operations. This includes responsibility for developing and deploying processes and solutions that will ensure the IS department operates in an efficient manner both within IS and with other departments throughout all of Penn Medicine. In addition, collaboratively partners with other IS and corporate leaders to provide guidance and direction regarding ongoing and future IS related activities.

Accountabilities:• Provides strategic direction, oversight and leadership over the following operational areas within the Information Services (IS) division: • IS Project Management Office - Oversees the activities of the IS Project Management Office (PMO) that prioritizes requested projects and leverages personnel, tools and processes to activate identified projects in a standard and successful manner. • IS Operations - Coordinate internal IS meetings (Operations, Change Control, Service Improvement, etc.), operates IS department infrastructure systems (Athena, Jira), IS audit compliance, IS Advisory Center.• IS Procurement & Contracting - Leads all functions associated with business contracting for all IS agreements with collaboration of the Office of General Counsel, Corporate Materials Management, Finance.• Corporate Applications - Ensures successful operations of UPHS Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and building security. Works closely with HR IS, Supply Chain, Finance and Building Security teams.• HR IS - Works closely with Human Resources (HR) department leadership to ensure IS systems are configured to meet HR department needs.• ERP Program - Leads the ERP program which is currently focused on a 3-year implementation of a new Human Capital Management (HCM) system. • IS Marketing and Communications - Oversees internal communications regarding IS activities via newsletters, web sites and email. Tracks external communication by IS leadership (e.g. speaking engagements, industry news articles, blogs). Leads the publication of bi-annual reports.• Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures• Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization

Minimum Requirements: Required Education and Experience:• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare, or IT related discipline required• 15+ years of progressive experience in a complex healthcare environment required• 15+ years of demonstrated management experience in a complex or multi-entity environment required• 3+ years of Enterprise IT experience required• 3+ years of leadership experience in a large organization with multiple direct reports required

Required Skills and Abilities:• Demonstrated interpersonal/verbal communication skills• Demonstrated project management skills• Ability to use Microsoft Word• Ability to use Microsoft SharePoint• Ability to use Microsoft Outlook• Ability to use Microsoft Excel• Ability to use Microsoft Power Point• Ability to recruit, lead, and manage a high performing team• Strong track record of managing people, projects and processes• Ability to troubleshoot, research and solve technically challenging problems• Knowledge of healthcare operations• Strong financial/business acumen• Ability to express technical information clearly and simply to non-technical persons• Ability to implement process improvements

Additional Information: As part of our COVID-19 response, this position may currently be offering partial or full remote work. However, in the near future this position will require full or partial on-site work.
