Job Description
As a CAD Detailer at Solar Innovations, you will create part drawings and bills of material that will be used by production to build the product. This team typically specializes in either structures or windows and doors.
Responsibilities:- Develop accurate and detailed fabrication drawings that will be utilized for layout and fabrication
- Identify, locate and update all appropriate product information related to the standard configurations and/or company standards for production
- Create part drawings and Bills of Material (BOM), identifying the quantity, parts, and dimensions needed for the Shop to build the product
- Review the accuracy of drawings completed by the Drafting Team
- Troubleshoot when issues are identified by the shop and provide feedback for solutions that can be implemented on the production floor
- Assist with R&D Projects for custom hardware and designs
- Develop a level of product knowledge that will allow you to identify errors in design and/or potential issues with the manufacturability of a product
- Cross train in the drafting function to better understand cutlisting requirements
Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:- 2-year degree in architectural design, mechanical design or similar field
- Advanced Math Skills (ex. Geometry)
- Ability to Problem Solve
- Detail-oriented
- Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks or similar (2D and/or 3D)
- Intermediate Knowledge of Excel
- 4-year degree in architectural design, mechanical design or similar field; exposure to a mechanical degree is ideal
