Description:

Seeking an Electrical Engineer for our Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office. The Engineer shall provide engineering design and details and shall work in conjunction with Project Managers and other team members for successful completion of electrical design and engineering for commercial and industrial projects. The successful candidate shall have the following specific responsibilities:

Perform analysis and calculations as required for design and engineering of power distribution, lighting, grounding, etc., in accordance with the project requirements and applicable codes and standards.

Perform arc flash, short circuit and coordination studies, as required.

Provide technical and design guidance to the designers in preparation of construction deliverables.

Assist Electrical Department Manager in preparation of procurement and construction specifications, and bid evaluation.

Review project scope and vendor information. Assist Department Manager to establish design criteria and guidelines.

Coordinate with other departments, as required.

Coordinate with vendors, as required.

Identify and resolve any potential conflicts, problems, changes or deviations in designs and engineering.

Perform site visits, as required.

Review, monitor, and approve quality of the work performed by the designers of the department.

Review department design standards and assist Department Manager to ensure compliance within the department and updating them as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum 5-10 years of experience in electrical design engineering with emphasis on power distribution, substations, arc flash/short circuit coordination studies, conduit, tray sizing, cable sizing, and help designers to route the raceways, controls, lighting, grounding, and cable and conduit schedules

Experience should include heavy industrial facilities

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

P.E. preferred

Experience with E-tap

Experience with AutoCAD

Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook)
