This role involves outsides sales and includes frequent travel within the Midwest. Available for up to 50% overnight business travelHow will you make an impact?As the Sales Representative, you will a key member Scientific Research Account Team. In this role you will report to the Regional Sales Manager. You will expand your knowledge of our market leading analytical instrument tools and delight customers in Western NY, Western PA and West Virginia.What will you do?You will develop specific account and territory strategies while promoting the sale of all company products and services.Design and deliver demonstrations and scientific seminars.

Use your creativity to develop a business plan to achieve goals.

Responds efficiently and promptly to customer requests, clarifies the customers' business challenges and provide technical assessment throughout the whole sales cycle.

Serves as the main point of contact for customers, a responsibility requiring a broad knowledge of the company and our mass spectrometry products.

Functions as a business person, aware of and responsible to the conditions that affect the business.

Is adaptable to customers’ needs, as well as to conditions and trends that affect them, and works independently to lead customer relationships.

How will you get here?Education/ExperienceBachelor’s degree in a life science related field and 5+ years sales experience or experience in a mass spectrometry laboratory.

Advanced degree preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesPosition may require Covid-19 vaccination, including a booster and/or routine testing, per client discretion. As a requirement to be onsite at Thermo Fisher Scientific this position requires vaccination status disclosure upon employment.

Experience with Triple Quadrupole and High Resolution Accurate Mass Spectrometry instrumentation and Liquid Chromatography is helpful.

Preference for individuals who have operated mass spectrometers in a laboratory

Consistent record of sales achievement within or related to Laboratory Instrumentation, large capital equipment or related products, or the equivalent combination of education and experience

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Must be a collaborator with ability to interface across internal and external sophisticated matrix organizations
