Purpose:Evaluate information technology risks to the company and consult with management to identify process improvements and operational efficiencies, all performed in accordance with professional standards. Work under the supervision of more senior auditors but may occasionally be expected to lead less complex audit projects. Write professional recommendations for an executive audience that reflect an understanding of company objectives and capabilities, control requirements, and industry best practices. Develop leadership capabilities to facilitate change in a constructive and collaborative manner.Responsibilities:

Leadership:Participates in departmental special projects.Possesses basic public speaking / presentation skills and is comfortable leading opening and closing meetings, including explaining issues to clients.

Workpapers & Reports:Uses standard department templates and processes for performing projects.Capable of developing new workprogram sections and testing steps to be included on audit programs.Individual workpapers re completed on time and evidence is organized to fully support conclusions and findings.Individual follow-up items and review comments are closed within timeframes.Identifies root cause of issues and proposes valuable and effective solutions, with knowledge of UPMC organization.Reviews all workpapers as appropriate and prepares report drafts for review by Discipline Management.

Risks & Industry:Assists with preparation for risk assessment meetings.Contributes to ongoing departmental goal of entity-wide risk identification and logging for the creation of audit plan.Possesses basic understanding of healthcare terminology and industry risks.Able to participate in a walk-through and demonstrate a basic understanding of all business processes and create a process flow to review with the client.

Technology Skills:Possesses basic understanding of technology controls and configurations for infrastructure, applications, and networking.Is developing specialized skills in specific technologies.Able to research and analyze new technologies and can develop preliminary lists of controls and risks. Stays current with new and emerging technologies.Possesses basic knowledge of internal and external control expectations, frameworks, and regulations.Possesses basic skills with electronic workpaper techniques and process flow technology.Capable of providing support for issues on departmental systems as well as system maintenance.

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Accounting, Organizational Development, Communications, Philosophy, Human Resources, English, or other similar majors.

Minimum of two years of related work experience, including one year of experience in the area of information technology, information security, or IT auditing required.

OR Minimum of three years of technology or information security experience required.
