GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Provides nursing care to the patient undergoing endoscopic procedures. Collaborates with the patient and physician to provide care.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts pre-procedural assessment and data collection.
  • Participates in the care of patients undergoing GI procedures.
  • Provides proper documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards and requirements.
  • Maintains a safe environment for patients from assessment through to the recovery period.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • Current licensure as an RN
  • ACLS & BLS required to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Minimum 2 years Nursing experience
  • Must be available for call, and respond on site within 45 minutes

Preferred

  • One year critical care experience
  • Recent GI Lab or Office Exp
