Central to these company-building activities is the role of the Senior Data Analyst. This Senior Data Analyst will regularly interact with various healthcare professionals and should be comfortable with both clinical and technical customer interactions. Technical skills include the ability to create and execute moderately complex SQL proficiently and efficiently. As a senior independent contributor, this data analyst should be innately curious, analytical, and should expect to define and refine requirements on requests. Business Intelligence and Python experience are a plus.

Responsibilities:
  • Data Extraction & Analysis
    • Gather requirements, review vendor specifications, discover data sources, and obtain necessary access to achieve accurate data representation.
    • Translate clinical questions into data requirements and generate actionable business and clinical insight.
    • Work independently on user stories and own and work on stories through each of the scrum stage gates effectively.
    • Use automated tools to extract data from primary and secondary sources.
    • Perform analysis to assess the quality and meaning of data.
    • Identify and remediate corrupted data
    • Identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets
    • Write complex and efficient SQL scripts
    • Using statistical tools - identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets
    • Understand multiple database/data warehouse structures, while understanding how various views/tables/schemas are related
    • Work across multiple systems and devices (Virtual Machines, Virtual Environments)
    • Work with structured and unstructured time-series healthcare data acquired from disparate sources
    • Develop a thorough understanding of the Data Engineering Design, Development, and Delivery processes.
    • Follow integration policies and procedures and execute solutions accordingly.
    • Deliver change requests and enhancements for integration solutions that follow Data Engineering best practices and leverage test-driven development and the SDLC.
    • Manage tasks and timelines related to assigned work. Escalate Risks and delays timely and effectively to the team Lead.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Interaction
    • Communicate technical and clinical insight to various audiences with diverse disciplines (Directors, Product Managers, Clinicians, Data Analysts, Business Intelligence)
    • Proactively engage stakeholders, subject matter experts, and leadership to understand business questions and determine optimal approaches to obtaining solutions.
    • Write and maintain technical implementation and supporting documentation for integrations.
    • Document, troubleshoot, and appropriately address production issues with the customer and effectively communicate with the team and other stakeholders.
    • Create and deliver clear, concise, and effective written and oral communications.
    • Complete projects, tasks, and initiatives by embracing a team-first approach.
    • Work in collaboration with team and offer feedback, where appropriate, to support individual and group efforts.
    • Show the ability to adjust and be flexible to change by adapting approaches when necessary.
  • Team Engagement & Growth
    • Responsible for continuous self-study, trainings, partnering with senior members, and/or seek out opportunities to broaden scope and to stay up to date with industry and organizational trends.
    • Seek feedback from senior team members for development and effectively incorporate feedback into work and behaviors.
    • Assist in the education and mentoring of new members of the team.
    • May sign-off on junior teammates work.
    • Perform in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, or computer science required.
  • Master's Degree or certifications in relevant programming languages related to data analytics preferred.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • Must be inquisitive and a quick learner.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills are required.
  • Strong SQL skills required.
  • Proficiency in Mirth (or similar healthcare integration engines), HL7, CDA, FHIR, healthcare applications, clinical and EMR workflows required.
  • Technical writing skills.
  • Ability to work in high-pressure situations and set/meet deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong healthcare data domain knowledge
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Proficiency in the Data Science lifecycle.
  • Effective usage in integration tools, Java, Camel, Spring, Kubernetes, AWS tools such as lambdas, S3, Glue.
  • Proficiency in one of more visualization tools.
  • Reporting and data visualization skills.
