Fairlane is a chef-owned dinner only/Sunday brunch restaurant with an adjoining bottle shop that specializes in local, domestic, and imported craft beers and special order wines. In the short time we've been open for business, we've garnered attention for our food and cocktail program including through outlets such as Pittsburgh Magazine, the Post-Gazette, and KDKA. We foster a collaborative work environment and are looking for an experienced, dynamic, and passionate cook to join our team. The ideal candidate is someone who is eager to learn new things, has basic knife skills, the ability to thrive under pressure, openly communicate, maintains our standard for food and presentation, and has the willingness to take initiative.

The restaurant is closed Sunday evenings and all day on Tuesdays. This position is to work primarily all evening shifts, 5 days a week. He or she will average 40 hrs/week. The candidate for this position would report to work at 3:00 and finish shifts between 10 and 11 pm, depending on weekdays vs. weekends. Pay starts at $14/hr - open for raise negotiations after 6 months.

We make the majority of our own breads, hot sauces, make as much of our menu from scratch as possible (and reasonable), source as locally and sustainably wherever available, and all of our dishes feature bold, yet approachable flavors and ingredients.

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalency

- At least 1 year of line cook experience

- ServSafe is NOT required but preferred

- Weekend and evening availability
