- Bachelor’s degree or higher in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or related field, and five or more years experience with GIS software application and/or GIS database development
- OR an equivalent combination of job-related education/experience
- Experience in at least one commercial RDBMS, including but not limited to Oracle or MS SQL Server
- Experience with one or more programming languages (Python, C#, Java, Visual Basic, Arcade, etc.)
- Experience with ArcObjects, ArcSDE, ArcIMS, and ArcGIS Server
- Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise preferably 10.8.1 or higher
- Experience with ArcGIS Utility Network and/or Schneider Electric’s ArcFM XI Platform is a plus
- Coordinating with GIS Technicians and technical team to deliver on-time requirements and applications
- Developing, deploying, administering, and tuning web services and related web applications to be consumed by both internal and external clients
- Adopting new GIS technologies through third-party training or individual research, both proprietary and open source. Advocate for enterprise GIS solutions
- Evaluating and recommending COTS software to implement and integrate within current & future GIS infrastructure
- Acting as a spatial database DBA providing database configuration, data model implementation, security profiles, and ArcSDE service management
- Providing system performance tuning, troubleshooting, backup & recovery, upgrades & service packs
- Participating in project teams, systems analysis, configuration, integration, and enhancement activities, as well as related maintenance and support
- Participating in project planning sessions with clients, business analysts, and team members to analyze requirements
- Working with project teams to define and design the scope for each project
- Making recommendations for buying vs. building decisions
- Providing design recommendations, developing, and integrating programs per written specifications
- Translating business and technical requirements into application modules. Utilizing multiple programming languages and software technologies
- Preparing and presenting status updates for various projects
- Making modifications to existing software applications and modules in accordance with written specifications and industry standards
- Testing and implementing application modules from multiple systems they have developed or modified, ensuring application meets needs of client and business
- Providing ongoing maintenance of applications or tools Handling Tier II support issues (tickets) within the area of expertise
