Job Description:
The Yard Jockey coordinates the movement of all in-bound and out-bound trailers in the distribution center yard. Moves trailers to and from the yard based on instructions received from the shipping or receiving coordinators. Ensures all safety policies are followed including but not limited to staying alert to traffic in the yard, properly hooking tractors to the yard truck, placing and removing chocks, handling swing doors, being alert to shifting merchandise in trailers, and ensuring all trailers are closed before movement. Performs yard checks/inventory as required.
Job Requirements:
Must be able to stand for long periods
Must have CDL Class A or B license
Previous experience as a Yard Driver/ Yard Jockey (1-3 years)
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Excellent attendance is a must
Communication skills necessary
Ability to follow all Safety protocol
Background check and drug screen is required
Must have reliable transportation
Must be able to work overtime and or weekends
