Job Summary Perform a variety of duties, either individually or as a member of a crew, incidental to the maintenance and installation of various natural gas transmission pipeline facilities and related equipmentMaintain pipeline facilities, operate various kinds of heavy duty, power driven hand tools and/or small tractor type equipmentWalk lines, repair leaks, monitor and report gas pressures and conditionsOperate various types of control valvesInsure that proper damage prevention procedures are following during pipeline encroachmentsMaintain tools and equipment used in the performance of assigned dutiesKeep equipment in safe and proper working conditionRequired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience Three months documented experience in a COMBINATION of the following: natural gas field work, other field work, well tending, pipeline inspection, pipeline work, construction, excavation, plant operations, physical labor, manufacturing, farming, timbering, line locating AND/OR related military experience AND/OR related education (technical school or college.)Additional Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesDocumented computer skillsMust possess and maintain a valid driver's license Operate various equipment and tools weighing up to 90 poundsAbility to lift and carry up to 50 poundsClimb ladders and work from elevated work surfacesAbility to crawl, stoop, and work in limited spaces, on scaffolding and in awkward positionsAbility to walk long distances over rough terrainAbility to follow mandatory safety rules and standard operating procedures and use personal protective equipmentAbility to analyze problems, collect accurate data and draw valid conclusionsAbility to work independently or as a crew memberPreferred QualificationsRelated natural gas industry experience Education Requirements High School Diploma or GEDLicenses, Certifications, or Quals Description Working Conditions Other Working Conditions This position is subject to call-outs and you must be available and willing to work overtime as required.You may be subject to hazards, such as proximity of moving parts, exposure to high noise levels, solvents, lubricants and other chemicals.You will be subjected to adverse weather and environmental conditions.Minimal overnight travel may be required.Test Description Aptitude testing requiredExport ControlCertain positions at BHE GT&S may involve access to information and technology subject to export controls under U.S. law.
