We operate more than 5,560 miles of gas transmission line and 756 Bcf of underground storage in the eastern U.S., along with gathering, processing and field services businesses. We operate in 12 states. BHE GT&S is an industry leader in liquefied natural gas solutions, through initiatives such as Pivotal LNG and our 25% operating stake in the Cove Point LNG facility in Lusby, Maryland.The energy we deliver supports major distribution utilities, power plants and manufacturing. Our premier storage operations provide dependable, flexible support for direct customers and neighboring pipelines. As a Compression Services Technical Specialist Intern you will have the opportunity to work with compression related subject matter experts to support the reliability, maintenance and troubleshooting of gas fired compression and auxiliary equipment. The intern will work in a field environment with engineers and technical specialists from multiple disciplines supporting gas turbines, centrifugal compressor, reciprocating engines and compressors.Specific Functions include: •Work with Technical specialists and engineers in the installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of natural gas compression equipment. •Researching and writing technical documents that could be used as company standards •Researching and implementing strategies and technology to reduce green house gas emissions •Working with computer programs such as Proficy and maintenance management systems to understand how these programs are used in the gas industry. •Learn and work with the mechanical and electrical equipment used in the gas industry. •Work with the federal and state regulations that govern the gas pipeline compression industry. •Learn the importance and application of the company's gas pipeline maintenance program and components. •Work with and learn about natural gas compression and natural gas auxiliary equipment that supports the interstate pipelines and storage facilities Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience •Currently be enrolled in a technical school that focuses on natural gas compression •Strong computer skills •Must have good communications and problem-solving skills. •Must be self-motivated and have a strong work ethic. •Prefer students with active participation in a technical school organization, especially, in a leadership role. •Candidates must currently hold a valid driver's license. Education Requirements 1) Currently be enrolled in a technical school that the discipline is focused on natural gas compression maintenance, operation and theory2.) Candidates must have a graduation date between December 2023 and May 2025.3.)
