We are looking for a top notch IT Cloud Engineer to join our CloudOps Cloud Enablement Team. They will provide front-line technical support to our internal clients on various technical issues relating to CI/CD platform. The Engineer would be responsible for working with the product owners and other stakeholders, focusing on the delivery and support of various applications / products Vanguard is developing.

This role can be based in either Charlotte, NC, and Malvern, PA

Responsibilities
  • Designs, implements, and deploys cloud platforms to support and meet business needs. Identifies and recommends opportunities for improvement and performance issue solutions.
  • Provides intermediate level technical support and monitors multiple cloud technology platforms efficiency through the use of monitoring tools and applications. Maintains comprehensive technical knowledge of cloud software and infrastructure platforms.
  • Develops technical standards. Tests and evaluates IT vendor products. Reviews configuration parameters to optimize system performance and maximize operation uptime
  • Trains and mentors staff and IT project teams, providing guidance and consultation as required. Updates, writes, and maintains documentation for the department.
  • Administers systems by actively managing patching, routine maintenance and backups to include the scheduling and execution of related tasks. Evaluating system performance and capacity in a large distributed infrastructure environment
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Additional responsibilities
  • Provides Tier 2 level technical support for Ci/CD platforms.
  • Monitors multiple cloud technology platforms efficiency through the use of monitoring tools and applications. Maintains comprehensive technical knowledge of cloud software and infrastructure platforms.
  • Answers the Tier 2 hot line and resolves complex issues. Reviews shift logs and turnover reports
  • Administers system activities (e.g., internet availability). Identifies performance issues and trends. Identifies opportunities to improve system and application performance, including automating manual system tasks. Participates in change management and related meetings to identify systems issues. Presents project initiatives and metrics. Creates ad hoc reports of significant system trends, including problem occurrences and responses.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of three years related work experience.
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience.

Additional Requirements
  • Experience of Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices
  • Working with application development teams using continuous Integration/ Continuous delivery practices and toolsets, ie. GitHub, Jenkins, Bamboo, Bitbucket, and automated testing tools like SauceLabs and Perfecto.
  • Ability to troubleshoot build E2E, Mutation and contract testing failures.
  • Deployment of applications and services into AWS using a variety of automation tools such as Cloud formation, Puppet and Cloud provider API's.
  • Understanding of monitoring solutions (Grafana, Splunk, Tableau)
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to provide step-by-step technical help, both written and verbal
